Come to Kryvorivnia, dear community! According to the Hutsul traditional calendar, we celebrate Rachman Easter on May 6th.
Rachman Easter is embraced as a celebration of memory and deep human presence—a feast of the "Rachman (righteous and peaceful) people." It is a tradition passed down from person to person through storytelling, song, and shared emotional experience.

The Event Program
13:00 – Gathering at the Kryvorivnia School
Opening Remarks: Father Ivan Rybaruk.
Lecture: Ivanna Stef'iuk will share insights into the profound traditions and history of Rachman Easter.
15:00 – Art Postcard Workshop (For Older Students)
Following the lecture, students will dive into a creative workshop to craft artistic postcards. Participants will:
Incorporate historical photographs from Kryvorivnia (including images of Stanisław Vincenz and Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit);
Work with selected text fragments from Vincenz’s Rachman Country, integrating them as powerful quotes;
Draw inspiration from the rich imagery and symbolism of the Rachman holiday;
Experiment with natural elements like twigs, leaf prints, and organic textures.
The created postcards will later be showcased at a dedicated Rachman Easter exhibition in the Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit Museum.
19:00 – An Evening by the Bonfire
We will wrap up the day gathered around the warmth of a traditional bonfire. The evening features:
Readings of Vincenz's texts from the Rachman Country;
Singing traditional songs ("Paraska's Spivanky");
A shared circle of remembrance honoring the "Rachman" souls of Kryvorivnia and its surrounding areas.
During this time, our participants—including Vasylyna Zelenchuk, Hanna Lutsiuk, Volodymyr Olshanskyi, Diana Horban, Ivanna Stef'iuk, and others—will share moving stories about at least five iconic local figures who embodied the true Rachman spirit.
