The momentum continues to grow! On June 4th, our local district newspaper, Nashe Slovo, published a dedicated feature article about our youth and student gathering focused on studying and preserving our unique dialect.
Meanwhile, our young researchers have been incredibly active in the field. Four of our participants headed out to conduct interviews, successfully capturing video recordings from seven elderly respondents across two local villages: Stolne and Diahova.
These captivating video clips of our living heritage have now been published on Facebook and Instagram, receiving a wave of likes, warm feedback, and enthusiastic support from the community. Our dialect is officially going digital!
The wave of interest keeps growing! The popular online publication Menshchyna took a keen interest in our ongoing efforts to research and preserve the Mena dialect. To capture the true essence of our project, their team came out to our traditional clay hut (khata-mazanka) in Maksaky to record a video podcast with me.
We had a wonderful conversation surrounded by the history that inspires us, and the episode is set to be released very soon. Stay tuned!
