The significance of our gathering resonated far beyond the borders of our community. A heartwarming review of the workshop was officially published on the website of the Taras Shevchenko National University "Chernihiv Colehium":
"In times of war, sooner or later, people face the question of where to draw strength from. For many citizens of our country, one of those deeply rooted sources is dialectal speech—the language closest to the heart.
On May 30, 2026, at the invitation of 'Menshchyna Turystychna,' students from the Faculty of Philology, alongside the Head of the Department of Ukrainian Language, Literature, and Journalism, Associate Professor Tetiana Leonidivna Khomych, traveled to the Mena community. Their goal was to talk to the local youth about the vital importance of preserving and spreading these dialectal treasures. The event was attended by school students from the villages of Voloskivtsi, Horodyshche, and Stolne."
This recognition from the academic community beautifully highlights that our efforts to preserve the Mena dialect are not just about history—they are about finding strength, identity, and resilience today.
